Another Independence Day…

15 August, 2010

Sunday

Am I cynical or a die-hard moralist that I seek moral perfectionism in life that is full of all things other than morality today! So with such a mental make up, the robotic culture of tailor made speeches, that proclaim all around development and putting under the carpet all those reports of corruption, make me sick–sick to the stomach!

The childlike excitement that I always had for this important day is sadly being replaced by an indifferent attitude and I think people of my generation who expected a lot in free India must be having a similar kind of feeling. Do we have any other choice or to go along with the currents of the mass mentality? I think, the only choice that we have is to express our opinion in howsoever feeble voice we may have.

The right to expression of all these thoughts are what I welcome in free India and would sacrifice all other dreaded corruption prevalent all around for this very basic right. So after all, I am happy to celebrate another Independence day, in my own way, as a free citizen of India.

Happy independence day to all those who enjoy and make use of freedom of expression of thoughts  in independent India!

  1. Very well said Ma’am!!

Despite of this basic right, we still are becoming victims of corruption.. That is due to the reason that we accept us as the part of the robotic system and weaken ourselves.

I share your concern along with millions of our compatriots, who may think likewise. Still, let us hope :
