Free From a Life in Bondage

Sorry dears that on this Independence Day instead of making a promising commitment to take my country forward, I would rather dedicate it to the memory of those numerous unborn female fetuses which are given an unceremonious burial every day in my country! I not only dedicate it to those great souls who laid their life, sorry “yet to be born life” to make our country prosperous for all those males who contribute for the progress of the nation. I know that my little voice might go unheard in the frenzy of the Independence Day celebrations but for a few who really would care, I write this post.

I compliment you for being liberated from a life of drudgery and slavery that awaited you much before your birth. Would you have had any choice for taking decisions for your life? If no, then why to decry the snatching away of the right to live from your very being? Free, we may be from the foreign rule but it is a pity that we still are bonded by the inhuman practice of killing the female child, even before its birth. Do the people who take such decisions think for a second how they would feel if such a decision is taken by someone else about their life?

But I take it as a blessing in disguise. You, the lucky souls, are getting freedom from a life that would be a burden for you. You will have the faculty of speech but the right to speak would be denied to you. You would have the capability to walk or even run but, unfortunately, would be denied to take one single step without someone guiding you. The freedom to live but every breath of your life would be in control of the same very people who have decided to throttle your life even before birth. Don’t you think that it was a mercy death, euthanasia, for you. You should be thankful to such persons who are kind enough to grant your wish even before you could speak it out. At least this time it is reading the mind. How intelligent of such persons!

On this Independence day when the grateful nations thanks the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for having made us free, I thank you dear, who lie unacknowledged in some pit, for having sacrificed your life for making this country GREAT! Imagine the kind of life that awaited you and you would be thankful yourself to your killers for having saved you from such a life.

You are the ones who are free, free from a life in a bondage!
